Wildfire is part of Carol Hartman's ongoing series exploring color as a stand-in for feeling rather than form. Built up in layers of oil and cold wax, the piece began as a single warm note that expanded outward across the canvas over several weeks of work. It was a finalist selection in Artavita's 74th juried contest and has since been shown at Red Dot Miami.
